The Belief System is a location in the film Inside Out 2.
History
The Belief System is a secret area below Headquarters where the emotions grow Riley's beliefs. It is connected to her Sense Of Self. When Anxiety shows up at Headquarters and destroys Riley's Sense of Self, she inserts orange memories into the Belief System and grows anxious beliefs. The more memories she plants, the brighter orange the Belief System glows.
Riley's anxious Sense of Self forms and says "I'm not good enough." Joy sends an avalanche of bad memories she'd previously banished to the Back of the Mind into the Belief System, which created some negative beliefs. They mixed with the old good beliefs and anxious beliefs to make a new Sense of Self and Belief System.
Appearance
The Belief System is a pool at the edge of Riley's Stream of Consciousness, full of memories connected to glowing strings. When the strings are plucked, the beliefs can be heard.
