insideout

Jangles the Clown is a character in Inside Out. He is one of Riley's darkest fears.

History

Inside Out

Jangles was an entertainer who attended six years of drama school prior to becoming a clown who primarily works at children's birthday parties. When he was hired for Riley's third birthday party, Riley became so scared of him that it traumatized her. The experience created an exaggerated version of him within Riley's mind and was kept in Subconscious. When Bing Bong was put into Subconscious, he was imprisoned on top of the slumbering Jangles. After Joy and Sadness rescued him from Jangles, Joy woke him up to get Riley to wake up so they could use the Train of Thought to get back to Headquarters. Joy lured Jangles into Dream Productions, which started Riley awake. Joy, Sadness, and Bing Bong then hopped on the train and escaped the rampaging Jangles.

During the credits, the real Jangles was seen at a birthday party. A look into his mind revealed he secretly hated his job.
